Desktop and offline software that keeps working when the internet does not

Some tools cannot afford to pause when the connection drops. We build installable Windows and Mac apps that run on the machine in front of you: point of sale, kiosks, field tools, and back-office software that stay fast and reliable with or without a network.

Overview

Software that lives on the device, not on a hope of good signal

Desktop and offline software is the right choice when uptime is not optional and the network cannot be trusted. Think a till that has to ring up a sale during an outage, a kiosk on a shop floor, or an inspection tool used in a basement or a warehouse with no reception. We build native apps that store data locally, run at full speed on everyday hardware, and sync back up the moment a connection returns.

Capabilities

What we build into every desktop app

Genuinely offline first

The app holds its own data on the device and does every core task without a network. Reconnection is a bonus, never a requirement, so work never stops because the signal did.

Native speed on Windows and Mac

Installable apps that open fast, handle large local datasets, and feel responsive on the hardware your team already uses. No browser tab, no spinning loader waiting on a server.

Point of sale and kiosk ready

Built for tills, self-service screens, and unattended terminals. We support receipt printers, barcode scanners, card terminals, and touch interfaces, and we lock the app down so only the intended screens are reachable.

Sync when you reconnect

Local changes queue safely and merge back to your central system or other devices once a connection is available. Conflicts are handled with clear rules so nothing is silently overwritten or lost.

Licensing on your terms

One-time licence keys for a clean purchase, or subscription with managed activation and renewals. We build the model that fits how you sell or deploy, including offline activation for machines that never touch the internet.

Practical AI where it earns its place

When it helps, we add focused on-device features like reading text from a scanned document, flagging an unusual entry, or speeding up search. Task specific, useful, and able to run without sending your data anywhere it should not go.

Example project

Offline point of sale and stock control for a multi-site retailer

A representative build. Every project is bespoke, so details vary.

Problem
A retailer with several branches kept losing sales whenever the internet dropped, because their till and stock system needed a live connection to work. Staff resorted to pen and paper, then spent hours re-keying transactions, and stock counts were often wrong by the end of the day.
Build
We built an installable Windows point of sale app that runs entirely on each till. It handles sales, refunds, receipts, barcode scanning, and card terminals with no network needed. Every transaction is stored locally and syncs to a central stock and reporting system automatically when a connection is available, with clear rules for merging inventory changes across branches. Licensing is per terminal, activated once and valid offline.
Outcome
Tills now keep working straight through outages, so sales are never turned away. Staff no longer re-enter anything by hand, stock figures stay far closer to reality, and head office sees consolidated numbers from every branch without chasing them.

Where it fits

Where offline software pays off

HealthcareClinic and bedside tools that record notes, checklists, and readings on a local device, then sync to the record system later. Care continues during network outages and in areas of a building with no reception.
RetailPoint of sale and stock tools that keep ringing up sales, printing receipts, and tracking inventory when the line to head office goes down, reconciling every transaction once it comes back.
Real estateOn-site apps for viewings, inspections, and condition reports that capture photos, measurements, and notes in empty or remote properties, then upload when the agent is back in range.
LogisticsWarehouse and depot tools for picking, scanning, and load checks that run on rugged handhelds and terminals, holding data locally across sites with patchy coverage.
Professional servicesDesktop apps for surveyors, engineers, and auditors who work in the field: forms, calculations, and evidence gathering that never depend on a data connection to get the job done.
EducationClassroom and exam software that runs on local machines and kiosks, keeping assessments and activities working reliably even when shared connectivity is slow or unavailable.

Questions

Common questions

Will the app really work with no internet at all?
Yes. We design the core features to run entirely on the device using local storage, so a lost connection never stops the work. Anything that needs to reach a central system, like syncing or reporting, simply waits and completes safely once a connection returns.
Can we buy it outright, or does it have to be a subscription?
Either. We support one-time licence keys for a straightforward purchase, or a subscription with managed activation and renewals. We can also handle offline activation for machines that are never connected to the internet.
How do updates and support work for installed apps?
We can deliver updates automatically when a device is online, or as a simple installer for controlled or offline environments where you decide when to roll changes out. Support and maintenance are agreed up front so you always know how fixes and improvements reach your machines.
